"CAT OWNERS BEWARE We have been sending our cats to Serene and Mac (owners of Cuddles and Purrs grooming shop & Candylicious Maine Coon Cattery in Singapore) for many years. We have been good, considerate and loyal customers. Every year, we would give Serene a grooming schedule for the entire year – this was to enable her to better organise her time/schedule/activities. We have always accommodated Serene’s last minute changes.

When Mac was injured due to an infected cat bite and was hospitalized, Serene at first was reluctant to be upfront and transparent with us about the extent of Mac’s injury. She wanted to hide Mac’s injury and inability to do grooming.

We made an effort to visit Mac in the hospital. We took pains to inquire about Mac’s recovery over the past 6 months. When Mac was hospitalized, Faye (an ex-dog groomer & partner of Serence) tried to groom one of our cats. Our youngest cat had such a bad reaction towards Faye. He was hissing, struggling a lot during the grooming session. Serene was present when the incident happened.

After this incident, we told Serene repeatedly that Faye cannot groom our cat. Our youngest cat NEVER had such a bad/violent reaction during grooming. It was obvious that Faye was not suited for the job. On 21 Nov 2024, we told Serene again that Faye cannot be allowed to groom our cats.

Cuddles and Purrs – Serene and Mac were very good with our cats until recently. We had booked Serene and Mac in advance for today’s 26 Dec 2024 appointment. As usual, we sent a reminder one week in advance on 15 Dec 2024 to Serene, to reconfirm our appointment. Serene did not tell us she was bringing Faye - see attached screenshots.

Last night, at the very last minute, Serene sent a message to my husband at 20:45PM to inform us that she, Mac and Faye will be coming to my home – see attached screenshots. Serene told us she “will be arriving 10:30AM to 11 -12PM”. See attached screenshots. We were shocked Serene wanted to bring a total stranger to our home! Also, Serene had the audacity to ask us to wait for her for almost TWO hours !!

Immediately, we told Serene we will not allow a total stranger into our home – Faye. Serene assumed it was alright to bring Faye along, just because we met Faye ONCE. We have told Serene repeatedly that Faye cannot groom our cat. We repeated to Serene last night emphatically about our objections. We tried to call Serene and Mac. They decided not to answer our messages or calls. We got SILENCE from Serene.

To make matters worse, Serene decided NOT TO TURN UP for today’s appointment and DID NOT BOTHER TO TELL US until the very last minute. Mac sent my hubby a message to inform us at 11:50AM TODAY telling us “Serene is upset” – see attached screenshots. We waited almost TWO HOURS for Serene and Mac to turn up for our cats’ grooming. NO APOLOGIES FROM SERENE. NO EXPLANATION, NOTHING AT ALL FROM SERENE. ONLY SILENCE FROM SERENE.

Serene’s behaviour is unprofessional, irrational and outrageous. Such behaviour is very unbecoming of a so-called professional cat groomer/top Maine Coon cat breeder! WE WILL NOT RECOMMEND CUDDLES AND PURRS to anybody. They are terribly UNRELIABLE & CAPRICIOUS. So, if you are thinking of cat groomer for your babies, THINK AGAIN." - Review By Rosanna Cil
