MOTHERHOUSE was founded in 2006 by Eriko Yamaguchi with the goal of showcasing the craftsmanship and materials from developing countries. The brand offers a range of elegant and timeless bags, stoles, and jewelry, which are produced in Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Indonesia. MOTHERHOUSE currently has over 35 stores in Japan, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, and its new store in Jewel Changi Airport marks its first venture into the Singaporean market.
