Sakon Thai is a restaurant that offers authentic Thai cuisine with some adjustments to accommodate local preferences. The menu is inspired by the flavors of Sakon Town in Northeast Thailand and the Gau Yuak Temple in Chiang Mai. The founder, who has supported the temple and spent time there, was impressed by the delicious food prepared by the locals for the temple visitors. In 2008, the first Sakon Thai opened in Serangoon North, bringing these unique flavors to Singapore. Popular dishes include the Fried Fish with Red & Green Sauce and the Sambal fried kangong.
